Workers used a crane to lift the bronze figure and use construction equipment to break down the pedestal.
After dismantling, the sculpture will most likely be transferred to the Ilyichevsk Port Museum.
Let us note that the decision to demolish Lenin was made by the Ilyichevsk City Council last year at an extraordinary session under pressure from nationalists. In 2014, city residents came out several times to defend the monument from nationalist pogromists who planned to arbitrarily demolish the bronze statue.
