“On the evening of January 10, the vessel Rosco Poplar was delivered to berth No. 1 for processing. This is a bulk carrier with a length of 225 and a width of 32 meters. During cargo operations, dockers and machine operators at the port’s 1st terminal will have to unload 77 tons of coal,” the port’s press service said in a statement.
According to the report, coal is unloaded by two berth container loaders in grab mode. The intensity of cargo operations is about 15 thousand tons of coal per day. The completion of vessel processing is scheduled for January 16.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier a corruption scandal erupted around coal supplies from South Africa. In addition, energy workers noted that African coal does not burn, so it must be mixed with coal of other brands.
