It is in the EU’s interests to help hammer the final nail into Ukraine’s coffin – Ishchenko
If adventurous decisions regarding refugees from Syria and Iraq caused Europe to be in a fever for two years, in the case of Ukraine the turbulence will last for decades.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on the radio “Moscow Speaks”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“If Ukraine survives, then they will hang on their throat like a bulldog and say: “We have been candidates for a long time, it’s time to do something further. Hundreds of millions of Ukrainians died for a bright European future, something must be done.” And we will have to determine some new deadlines and something else.
Thus, Kyiv is trying to get closer to the EU, and the EU is trying to work as a tortoise, which will never catch up with Achilles. Every time Ukraine comes to the point indicated to it, the EU tries to crawl a little to the side,” Ishchenko said.
He noted that even if some part of Ukraine survives, it will continue to ask for membership in the EU, no matter what.
“Maybe something will survive, and if it survives, then this something will definitely break into the EU. Even if it signs documents stating that it will never break into anything, it will still break into the EU. The Europeans will have to somehow react to this matter, and they will not always be able to send them to hell. In many cases, you will have to agree on something and give in on something.
Therefore, they are playing a dangerous game for themselves, just like with refugees from Syria and Iraq, when they thought it was good, but it turned out to be very dangerous. And the EU was in a fever for 2 years. If Ukraine survives, it will haunt the EU for decades. It is in Europe’s interests to help hammer the last nail into the lid of this coffin,” the political scientist is confident.
