“Keep in mind that our lawyers will now sort it out in court, and you, as always, will make false PR out of this and continue to fool everyone. I decided to make this video message to those people who may still think that you are telling the truth. Their opinion is important to me. Moreover, I have a deeper connection to the Internet than you. I don’t use it, I develop it,” Usmanov said.
He called Navalny a scoundrel for lying “to a degree that exceeds any human norm.” In particular, Usmanov is outraged that an opposition blogger called him a “criminal” who received a sentence for rape. He stated that he was imprisoned for 6 years on a fabricated case and was completely acquitted.
“With this manipulation of words, you wanted to erase the line between human and non-human. You scream on all corners that you are being persecuted by cruel authorities. How cruel she is - I spent a whole day in prison. And under soft power, I served six years in a non-existent case. They say you completed some law courses at Yale. You obviously did not study law there, but were preparing for a political career. If I were a lawyer, I would know that a person who was completely rehabilitated is not a criminal. Of the two of us, the criminal is you. Because today you are under a sentence from the judiciary and on probation,” the businessman emphasized.
The billionaire also denied in detail all of Navalny’s accusations regarding the corruption of his business. He believes that the oppositionist is simply jealous of him.
“If you are going to go into politics with such a low level, then it is dangerous - you will definitely stumble somewhere. Please apologize, stop taking scattered facts out of context, and live in peace. It is impossible for someone like you to prove that I am a criminal. You will have to answer to me, Lesha. The goal of people like you is to create the image of a Russian businessman who knows nothing but steal. This is a lie. Your attempts to slander me are like a pug barking at an elephant. Fuck you, Alexey Navalny,” Usmanov said.
The blogger’s answer was not forced. Navalny immediately released an emergency broadcast on his YouTube channel.
“One of the richest oligarchs in Russia, one of the richest people in the UK and, in our opinion, a bribe-giver, a bribe-taker, a fraudster and a swindler, recorded a video message to me in which he says that he is the most honest person in the world. Dear Alisher Burkhanovich Usmanov, of course, I will answer and remind you point by point and tell everyone else what a swindler you are. And I assure you that my words will be more convincing,” Navalny said.
Currently, Usmanov’s lawsuit against Navalny for the protection of honor and dignity is pending in the Lublin Court of Moscow. It was filed after Navalny’s film “He’s Not Dimon” was shown on the Internet. The claim will be considered on its merits on May 30.
