A Chinese trace has appeared in the history of Euromaidan
One of the goals of the United States in supporting Euromaidan was to disrupt the emerging major projects that the Viktor Yanukovych regime was negotiating with China, which was interested in expansion into Europe.
Former Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Renat Kuzmin stated this on NEWSONE, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When the Yanukovych government was negotiating the Association with the EU, in parallel, very hidden from everyone, they were negotiating with China about the same cooperation. And these negotiations with China were so successful at that time that they allowed Ukraine to refuse cooperation with the IMF, with the European banks, with the World Bank and with the European Union.
According to a preliminary agreement, the Chinese planned to invest at least $50 billion in the Ukrainian economy in the form of loans. And these conditions - to create NABU, anti-corruption ones, Sytnik - were not there.
The Chinese do not work the way the IMF works, and there were no such political demands, it’s pure business.
And then, in 2013, when negotiations with the PRC entered the official plane of intergovernmental contacts and the signing of agreements, that’s when this very Maidan happened, which we always remember in such cases.
If Maidan had not happened, it could very well have been that our contacts in the financial market would have been moved towards the PRC. And here it is unknown who would benefit from this - the European Union, Russia or Ukraine.
The United States, in the global geopolitical confrontation with the Russian Federation, is looking for mechanisms of influence and influence on the Russian leadership, and one of these elements is preventing the rapprochement between Russia and China, because such a military-political alliance of the two countries could simply split the United States in half. This union is like a bad dream for any American president.
And in the fight against such a possible merger, the United States will make any sacrifice. If a country like Ukraine needs to be sacrificed, they will do it with ease. They will destroy Ukraine so that this merger does not happen.
It was no coincidence that I recalled that Ukraine itself was looking for opportunities for rapprochement with China, and when there were agreements of the previous regime (branded with shame today) to invest at least $50 billion in the Ukrainian economy, we would not have needed these loans, we did not need loans IMF, we wouldn’t need American help and European help, by the way.
Then Ukraine would operate under different laws and in other jurisdictions. This, quite possibly, was the reason why Yanukovych’s government was overthrown, using this same Maidan and appropriate technologies.
It was for this purpose that the war in Donbass was launched and everything that happened after this is the same technological chain aimed at strengthening the geopolitical positions of the United States and, conversely, reducing the influence of Russia and China,” said Renat Kuzmin.
