In Ivano-Frankovsk, a musician was beaten for performing Russian songs. Mayor seeks lawyer for attacker
In the center of Ivano-Frankivsk, a man attacked a street musician for singing in Russian.
A video of the incident was published by eyewitnesses on social networks, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The footage shows how a verbal altercation escalated into a fight. One of those who were outraged by the songs hit the musician in the face. He fell and never got up again.
It is noteworthy that the mayor of the city, Ruslan Martsinkiv, acquitted the attacker. The mayor praised the man who beat the musician for his civic position.
“I watched the video, we need to find a lawyer for that guy, the guy who punched the Muscovite in the face. We need to help him, if there is a police report, then we need to find him a lawyer. Where is our municipal aspect? Do you control such things, from time to time you check that we are singing songs here in Muscovite in the city center? I'm not saying assault, as Mr. Vasil did. But if it doesn’t reach, then what? Find out if there is any statement to the police,” the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk said on local Channel 402.
