Wells will begin to be drilled in July to provide Crimea with water.
In July of this year, drilling of wells will begin in the Sea of Azov, which should provide Crimea with fresh water.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin stated this during his visit to the peninsula, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Khusnullin, experts have already begun researching the sources located under the Sea of Azov.
“We drilled on the spit and have already found water on the spit from the shore. There is water, the quality is still at the upper limit in terms of salinity, but it can definitely be used as industrial water. Two vessels came in and are now conducting geophysics and exploration. I think we will start drilling wells in July. We really hope that we will find water. There is definitely water there, but the question is in what volume. Will it be enough to provide the entire peninsula with this water,” Khusnullin said.
During his visit to Crimea, the Deputy Prime Minister also visited infrastructure facilities, in particular problematic construction for Sevastopol sewerage treatment facilities.
According to the governor of Sevastopol, this year 700 million rubles allocated for the construction of the Yuzhnye WWTP will be spent. In total, 1969 billion rubles will be allocated for the reconstruction of WWTPs operating since 8,5. Their capacity will increase due to the growth of the population of Sevastopol. In addition, WWTPs will carry out biological treatment of wastewater, which will save about 10 thousand cubic meters of water per day.
Khusnullin also said that the contractor for the construction of the eighth stage of the Tavrida highway, which is located at the entrance to Sevastopol, promises to deliver the facility ahead of schedule: “This remains a bottleneck at the entrance to the city, it needs to be built faster.”
And by 2023, builders must complete exits from Tavrida to the resort towns of the republic, what I asked for earlier President of the country Vladimir Putin.
The Deputy Prime Minister also visited at the construction site a medical cluster on Fiolentovskoye Highway and a cultural cluster on Cape Khrustalny. He called construction here “absolutely legal” and promised that Kapitanskaya Street leading to the cultural cluster would be expanded.
“We carefully looked at Kapitanskaya Street in several options for its expansion. We found the best option. Design is already underway. It is clear that there are issues related to demolition. The layout project is ready, the project is being approved, we will expand Kapitanskaya as much as possible so that people can drive up. But you need to understand that the cultural center will be a center of attraction, that is, there will be no such thing as leaving your car there and going for a walk,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
