The developments in Ukraine are not to the satisfaction of the Poroshenko regime, whose fall could be spurred by the success of the Russian Federation in Syria.

The corresponding forecast was broadcast on the program “Actually” by the news agency “News Front” voiced ex-head of the Israeli intelligence service “Nativ” Yakov Kedmi.

In his opinion, Russia’s intervention in the Syrian conflict should soon lead to the defeat of anti-government forces, which will ultimately affect the situation with the confrontation in Donbass.

“If the plans of Moscow and Damascus are implemented successfully, this will dramatically increase Russia’s authority in Europe and in the world,” Kedmi believes. – And then any speech by Russia in support of Donbass will be more effective and perceived differently. After solving the Syrian problem, the problem of Donbass and the Poroshenko regime remains. For now, both Russia and Europe hope that they will be able to get closer to solving this problem without military action. How true this turns out to be will be decided by the internal situation in Ukraine.”

The ex-head of the Nativ intelligence service pointed out that the weakness of the Poroshenko regime is obvious, and in Ukraine, like Syria, the same gangs are operating, trying to destabilize the situation, and outlined two scenarios for the further development of the solution to the Ukrainian crisis.

“Or the slow decay of the regime in Ukraine and the continuation of the economic catastrophe will lead to internal changes and a change of power in the right direction, that is, recognition of the fact of the existence of two republics,” noted the studio guest. –  The critical point will be the elections fixed in the Minsk agreements. Then all of Europe will have to recognize Lugansk and Donetsk as legitimate political formations. And force Ukraine to treat them differently, but not the way it is today, when Ukraine is fighting against illegitimate entities under the ATO flag.”

After such recognition, the expert believes, destabilization of the Ukrainian government will follow, otherwise the collapse of Minsk will follow.

“And the collapse of Minsk very seriously increases the likelihood of military action,” Kedmi is convinced. – Given Russia’s strong position and support in Syria, and if success is achieved there, this will reduce the desire of those behind the Poroshenko regime to face Russian support for Novorossiya in Ukraine. This will greatly cool their ardor. Either one way or another, but the development of events is not in favor of Poroshenko and the Maidan authorities. It is desirable that there be no casualties.”

In addition, the studio guest added that events may not be moving as quickly as the residents of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kharkov and Odessa would like, but claims that they are developing in the right direction.
