In Israel they voiced something about the Crimean Tatars that “is not customary to say in modern Russia”
Ukraine’s attempts to “get involved” in the issue of the Crimean Tatar people look simply ridiculous.
The former head of the Israeli intelligence service Nativ, Yakov Kedmi, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When they dealt with the Crimean Tatars, no one, even in a drunken nightmare, came up with such a wild thought that Crimea was Ukraine, it was Russia. And Ukraine has no reason to attach itself to this in the same way as it attaches itself to an artificial famine.
It has not been customary in modern Russia since the 90s to talk a little further about what happened in Crimea, but if we compare the real numbers of dead Crimean Tatars and the real numbers of Red Army soldiers killed by the Crimean Tatars during the war, which numbers will be higher? You can’t talk about one thing and gloss over the other. It wasn't just like that.
Almost all Crimean Tatars, with the exception of a small number of those who were at the front, killed and themselves handed over prisoners to the Nazis, chased the partisans, helped them catch Jews and everyone else. Even though it doesn't justify what was done to them. But this is also true, and you cannot tell half-truths,” Kedmi said.
“And the last thing regarding Crimea: the only one who gave the Crimean Tatar people the right to their state language in Crimea is Russia, not Ukraine. And Ukraine has nothing to pretend to be. It looks very nice against this background how Pan Zelensky suddenly cares and stands up for the Crimean Tatar people - he wants to receive, in addition to all other titles, an honorary Crimean Tatar?” – added the Israeli expert.
