Israel warned Russia about the American threat
The Clear Sky military exercises in Ukraine, in which American F-15 fighter jets took part, should force Russia to think about its own security.
The former head of the Israeli intelligence service Nativ, Yakov Kedmi, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“Anyone who saw F-15s taking off from Ukrainian territory should understand: something is happening in Ukraine. This is the biggest threat to Russia's security. The US goal was to turn Ukraine into a military base against Russia. The fact that they failed to do this in Crimea resolved the issue of security for a certain period. But this does not solve Ukraine’s problem, especially in light of the latest US decision to lift any restrictions on the supply of weapons there,” Kedmi said.
He believes that Russia has pursued a wrong policy towards many neighboring countries.
“I think the Russian leadership already understands that Russian policy in the 16st century in relation to Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, and the Baltic countries has not brought any positive results (let’s put a question mark over Armenia). The rupture of the INF Treaty transfers relations from the realm of political to the realm of military confrontation. It’s not just that F-XNUMXs are flying over Estonia and approaching Russian borders. We need to change the policy. What we've done so far hasn't worked. On the contrary, the situation is worse than it was a year ago,” the expert believes.
