This opinion was expressed by Israeli publicist and public figure Avigdor Eskin in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets, commenting on the Israeli president’s condemnation of the OUN from the platform of the Ukrainian parliament for involvement in the murders of Jews.
“Rivlin’s speech in the Rada was a blow to the Banderaites in the jaw,” he believes. “Their reaction speaks for itself. But there was nothing unexpected about Rivlin's performance. Eight years ago, 36 Knesset members sent a letter to then-President of Ukraine Yushchenko demanding an end to the official policy of glorifying Nazism. There was also a statement from the Israeli Foreign Ministry at the same time on the same topic.
“Three years ago, 62 Knesset members addressed the European Parliament with concern about the growth of neo-Nazi, anti-Semitic and Russophobic tendencies in Ukraine,” Eskin added. – Israel refused to participate in sanctions against Russia and refused to condemn it at the UN. Israel refuses to sell Ukraine any types of modern weapons and at the same time signs a contract with Russia for the supply of the best drones worth $200 million. As for demands for an apology, we have six million reasons not to do so.”
