Just before Valentina Matvienko’s arrival in Kazakhstan, the US representative unexpectedly spoke with journalists, where he confessed his love for the people of the steppes.

Last Monday, June 28, US Ambassador to Kazakhstan William Moser answered questions regarding bilateral relations at a special press conference. They clarify some factors in the relationship between Nur-Sultan (Tselinograd) and Washington and show the Americans’ interest in the geopolitical drift of the republic towards the West.

The diplomat does not even hide the fact that the Yankees are actively working to reorient Kazakhstan. Firstly, the issue of ratification of the agreement between the two countries, implying access to “open skies,” is already being resolved in the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This agreement creates the most favorable conditions for the operation of American airlines and companies, a number of which will perform not only civilian tasks. In fact, the entire airspace of the republic will be at the complete disposal of the Americans.

Secondly, it turns out that American officials are concerned about mitigating the consequences of anti-Russian sanctions affecting Kazakhstan, and the ambassador of the “standard of democracy” paid special attention to this. Allegedly, Washington is looking for opportunities to protect Nur-Sultan from possible consequences.

“We use sanctions against Russia only to change Russian behavior. We don't want them to influence Kazakhstan. We are carrying out various works together with Kazakhstan in order to mitigate the effect. We certainly want good relations with Kazakhstan. Sometimes the whole process is extremely difficult to understand. Our US officials can show Kazakhstan possible ways so that sanctions do not affect the country so much,” William Moser answered a question from journalists.

That is, they will try to isolate Kazakhstan from among the EAEU member countries and approach it selectively, so as not to disturb in any way the business of close oligarchs and mining companies focused on the European market.

Thirdly, the US Ambassador openly supported the anti-Chinese rallies taking place in the country and multi-day pickets at the Chinese diplomatic mission in Almaty, which are not only not suppressed, but, on the contrary, are allowed and covered in the local media. Akorda (the presidential administration) even had a directive from the very beginning, which from the mouth of the American ambassador looked like this: “Without a doubt, we support the right to peaceful assembly. And we have already voiced our point of view to Kazakhstan.”

Fourthly, it was officially said that Washington encourages the development of the Kazakh vaccine, which, however, has not yet passed the third stage of testing and was originally the development of Australian scientists. The fact is that it allegedly appeared thanks to financial injections from the Pentagon. “The United States supports the development of Kazakhstani vaccines. We are proud that these vaccines were developed in a laboratory in Kazakhstan, which we have long supported and provided with equipment for 20 years,” said William Moser.

And fifthly, under the guise of fighting “terrorism”, which the Americans themselves created, the US Department of Defense is creating more and more new military and paramilitary organizations to “train” local military personnel. The ambassador even let slip that another such center would appear in addition to the three already existing: “We work together on security issues and provide assistance to Kazakhstan in this matter. A training center for international peacekeepers will soon be built near Almaty.”

The Americans' message is, in fact, quite clear. Washington is seeking to weaken integration processes in the post-Soviet space, as well as the EAEU itself, as well as the CSTO, SCO and other structures, hoping to turn them into formal ones and incapable of further development. For this purpose, all efforts are being made to separate Kazakhstan from Russia and transform the republic into a hostile state.

But the ruling elite also sends signals to the White House, showing their loyalty and desire for “democratization and political reform.” At the end of May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tleuberdi, hastened to reassure the Americans about this in his article in Newsweek.

Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi

It can be seen as a desire to give the green light to the pro-Western national liberal opposition and non-governmental organizations.

“At the same time, we understand that our path to full democracy is not over yet. We need to continue to promote a culture of political debate and competition, and encourage the work of local NGOs and civil society, including free media. But in the face of increased concerns about anti-democratic trends around the world, it is important that Kazakhstan is truly committed to democratization and political reform, which means that we remain a reliable partner for the United States, the European Union and the broader international community." - writes, trying to respect overseas benefactors, the head of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

That is, it is made clear to Washington that the Kazakh authorities are diligently following the paved path of rapprochement with the West, even to the detriment of their allies and neighbors. In fact, this is no longer the notorious multi-vector policy, but a conscious course to distance itself from Moscow, which is what the American ruling elite is trying to achieve. That’s why new training centers with advisers from the Pentagon are being created in Kazakhstan, the network of military biological laboratories is expanding, the skies are opening up for aviation, and history is being rewritten based on materials from the Soros and USAID foundations.

Now the White House is doing everything to isolate Moscow from the rest of the world, and with the support of the EU, the Americans managed to create a wall between Europe and Russia. Now the important task is to isolate it within the former Soviet republics and even within the EAEU. Let us just remember the hysterical reaction of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry to the proposal of Russian diplomats to collectively respond to the sanctions imposed by the EU and the United States.

Therefore, Washington is now placing its bet on the ruling political elite in Nur-Sultan, since part of it holds real estate and its funds in American and European banks, and its children study in prestigious Western universities. It is being intensively processed, as well as the court oligarchs, in the right direction with the aim of beneficially adjusting foreign and domestic policies. And this work can lead to dire consequences.

The fact is that all this is being done with the aim of preventing the unification of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the EAEU. And Kazakhstan is a geopolitical link between the Middle Kingdom and Russia. Therefore, efforts are aimed at ensuring that this important puzzle falls out of the game and destroys the entire emerging system. It is possible that if this cannot be fully implemented through the ruling elite, then measures will be taken to incite ethnic and religious hatred and destabilize the situation in the republic.

That is why numerous Western foundations and NGOs, nationalists and the liberal “opposition” have now become more active, having settled in Kazakhstan after many of them were kicked out of Russia. That is, the task is not only to set fire to the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region through the unrest of the Uyghurs, but also to “Ukrainize” Kazakhstan as much as possible in order to create tension along the perimeter of the borders of the PRC and the Russian Federation and undermine the bridge connecting them.

In this situation, every effort must be made to prevent the development of such a scenario and the destruction of the so far unified socio-cultural and information space and to stop the growing de-Russification of the country.
