Thus, in the South Kazakhstan region, the one-time benefit amounted to 227 thousand tenge (this is about 600 dollars). In addition, veterans received gifts worth 100 thousand tenge. The region is home to 223 veterans of the Great Patriotic War, 996 persons equated to participants and disabled veterans of the Second World War, and 19 home front workers.
“Along with the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, all home front workers received a one-time increase to their pension of 11 tenge. Southerners highly value the military and labor feats of their fellow countrymen. Thus, the Kamkordyk charity program has been operating in the region for several years. This year alone, within the framework of the program, 345 million tenge was allocated at the expense of sponsors to pay for utility services for veterans,” reports the Kazakh publication i-News.
In Astana, the amount of one-time payments to veterans amounted to 500 tenge (1,5 thousand dollars).
“Our respect for veterans should be as great as their feat. I want to once again congratulate all Kazakhstanis, all veterans on this joyful Victory Day. Wish you good health and all the best to all of us. First of all, the victory was achieved as a result of the unity of the brotherhood of friendship of all the peoples inhabiting the country. It is with this slogan that we now live,” said President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
