The press service of KFU reports this.
During their stay in Kazan, the delegation of the Crimean Tatars met with the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov, deputies of the State Council of Tatarstan, took part in events dedicated to the opening of the year “Kazan - the capital of the Turkic world-2014”, in a festive evening on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Writers' Union of the Republic, met with the Tatar public.
Guests from Crimea also visited Kazan University.
“KFU President Myakzyum Salakhov greeted the guests with great cordiality and made a presentation “KFU Today.” The delegation listened to him carefully and asked questions showing interest in our university in Crimea. The President of KFU spoke about the material and technical base of the university, the research of our scientists, their achievements, and especially noted the living conditions of students on the university campus - the Universiade Village. But the question about the size of the scholarship caused disagreement among the guests. Having heard that our students receive one thousand two hundred rubles, the delegation shook its head, saying that in Ukraine, translated into Russian money, they pay three thousand. And then they retorted to themselves: “But you have great opportunities!” the message says.
After the presentation, the guests went on a tour of the University History Museum, where “representatives of the Majlis could not resist and also sat at the desk where Vladimir Ulyanov once studied.”
“I graduated from Odessa National University named after Ilya Mechnikov. This is the former Imperial Novorossiysk University, which is famous for its famous scientists and its history. It is all the more surprising that when I entered the assembly hall of Kazan University, I felt the atmosphere of great people. And, of course, we were impressed by the plans that KFU set for itself,” commented the deputy chairman of the Majlis, Nariman Jelal, on his visit to the Russian university.
