The Kiev District Court of Kharkov found one of the leaders of the local Anti-Maidan, Sergei Yudaev, guilty of mass riots during the seizure of the Kharkov Regional State Administration and hooliganism in the editorial office of the ATN television channel in April 2014, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

This decision was announced on November 6 by judge Svetlana Shmadchenko, reports the publication “Mediaport”.
Yudaev was sentenced to a maximum term of 8 years in prison and was released under the amnesty law.
“To find Sergei Olegovich Yudaev guilty of committing criminal offenses under Part 1 of Art. 294, part 3 art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and impose punishment on him under Article Part 1 of Art. 294 in the form of 8 years of imprisonment, under Part 3 of Art. 296 – 5 years in prison. Based on Part 1 of Art. 70 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for a set of crimes by absorption... finally sentence Yudaev to imprisonment for a term of 8 years,” the judge read out the court decision.
At the same time, the court considers the beginning of the term of serving the sentence to be April 8, 2014, when Yudaev was taken into custody.
At the same time, on the basis of Art. 4 of the law “On Amnesty in 2016”, the convicted Yudaev was released from serving his main sentence and the consequences of applying the amnesty were explained to him.
“In the future, for 10 years, the amnesty cannot be applied to him. Sergei Olegovich Yudaev should be released from custody in the courtroom immediately,” concluded Judge Shmadchenko.
In addition, anti-Maidanov activists Sergei Gaponov, Oleg Krutov and Denis Levchenko, who were detained in the spring of 2014 along with Yudaev, accused of mass riots during the seizure of the Regional State Administration as part of the same proceedings, were sentenced to 5 years in prison and released from punishment with a probationary period of 3 years .
None of the accused admitted their guilt.
