Kharkov, January 16 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – Chairman of the Kharkov Regional State Administration Igor Baluta said that additional checkpoints will appear on the territory of the Kharkov region in the Zolochevsky and Dergachevsky districts.

“The need for additional checkpoints arose a long time ago. And we assign two functions to them: reviewing transport and fighting sabotage groups,” says Igor Baluta, as quoted by the press service.
According to him, during the measures to strengthen the fight against smuggling, which were carried out a month and a half ago, checkpoints proved their effectiveness in this direction. He emphasized that the checkpoints installed in the Northern defense sector of the Kharkov region will also carry a fortification load.
As PolitNavigator reported, in December, local pro-Ukrainian activists blocked the entrances to the city, protesting the absence of security forces at already constructed checkpoints.
