The organizers of the action for federalization were the Communist Party of Ukraine, public organizations “Civil Forum of Kharkov” and “Borotba”.
The protesters announced the creation of the “South-East” public movement, which is designed to protect the interests of residents of the south-eastern regions of Ukraine, “from Kharkov to Odessa.” One of the goals is to create a “single space with Russia and Belarus.”
The demonstrators also criticized the authorities, who, according to them, are detaining pro-Russian activists, but at the same time leaving Ukrainian nationalists responsible for the deaths. The picketers announced their intention to install a memorial plaque on Rymarska Street for pro-Russian activists who died during clashes with Ukrainian nationalists from the Right Sector.
The protesters also brought Yulia Tymoshenko to the square with a scythe, as well as “nuclear weapons” - this is a hint of the wiretapping of the ex-prime minister’s conversation, where Tymoshenko promised to shoot the Russians of Ukraine.
At the same time, the Kharkov Euromaidan is holding its rally near the Shevchenko monument. About 300 people gathered there, they were holding Ukrainian flags. People are holding posters “Putin’s Russia is a deceitful, vile, aggressive state”, “We will not surrender without a fight”, “Children of the war against the war”. The leader of the group “Vopli Vidoplyasova” Oleg Skrypka spoke at the rally.
