A hunt for the “Gauleiter” has been announced in Kharkov
At the online session of the Kharkiv Regional Council, held on May 9, a number of people’s representatives, approximately a sixth of the total composition, were absent. In fact, not getting in touch was the only way not to vote for the document adopted by deputies in support of the Kyiv regime. Among those absent was 78-year-old Vladimir Svyatash, an honored doctor, the father of Dmitry Svyatash, a former people's deputy from the Party of Regions.
Perhaps Svyatash Sr. did not want to vote for the scandalous appeal, or perhaps he assumed that the political “execution” of his son was being prepared.
Back in early April, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Mustafa Nayem made a statement that Dmitry Svyatash, according to the Kremlin’s plans, should head the administration of the Kharkov region in the event of an “occupation.”
“Good people say that the Kremlin has even prepared a candidate for the future Gauleiter of Kharkov. If you remember, there was such a person as Dmitry Svyatash, a regional deputy and confidant of Viktor Yanukovych in 2004,” wrote Nayem.
He made it clear that “good people” were found among Svyatash’s acquaintances, to whom he had previously offered positions in his administration, and threatened the ex-people’s deputy with imminent death “either at the hands of our special services, or as a result of an internal war with the same criminals and looters.”
It turned out that Nayem’s application had already been taken into consideration by the official authorities.
During an online session, deputy Roman Semenukha asked the prosecutor of the Kharkov region Alexander Filchakov: “Are criminal proceedings being prepared or is the investigation continuing regarding the declaration of suspicion against a citizen of Ukraine, who was almost officially announced by the Russian Federation as the future Gauleiter of Kharkov?”
“Currently, SBU investigators are conducting a pre-trial investigation regarding this person under Art. 111. The Kharkov Regional Prosecutor's Office provides procedural guidance in these criminal proceedings. I think that in the near future we will make a legal decision. I can say from myself, as the head of the regional prosecutor’s office: I believe that our duty is to bring this person to criminal liability as provided for by law,” Filchakov answered.
“Prosecutor” Roman Semenukha also stated that, according to his information, Vladimir Svyatash, the head of the standing commission on health issues, is currently in Russia. It should be noted that Dmitry Svyatash and his family also live in Russia. In 2020, they received asylum in the Russian Federation. According to Nayem, Dmitry changed his country of residence due to criminal prosecution in Ukraine.
Indeed, in 2019, Svyatash Jr., after losing the elections to the Verkhovna Rada, became involved in cases of tax evasion and the misappropriation of UAH 1,1 billion of Ukrsibbank funds.
But it is also true that Svyatash was persecuted by nationalists in Ukraine.
In January 2014, on the eve of the coup in Kyiv, he spoke impartially about the residents of Western Ukraine, as well as representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada and the United States. The People's Deputy expressed the opinion that the division of the country in the long term is inevitable - and became an enemy of Bandera's followers. One day, the Kharkov Freikorps reached him, at that time, fortunately, armed not with grenade launchers, but with pepper spray and brilliant green.
