Famous Kharkov scientist, according to the investigation, “I was interested in the Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology, where nuclear experiments are carried out. He found out information about radioactive waste and its storage locations. Logunov transmitted to the Russian Federation information about military facilities and the amount of weapons, personal data of the Ukrainian military and patriotic Kharkov residents. In addition, he met with one of the developers of new armor enhancement technology. He wanted to hand her over to Russian intelligence for money. The scientist was detained while transporting another military secret to Moscow. His group has been exposed."

However, no evidence of such accusations was presented. It remains to be seen whether there was intent in his actions and, accordingly, whether the actions themselves took place, and also whether this detention was not a provocation by the same SBU, which needed to carry out the landing plan launched from Kyiv.

The SBU claims that a group of 18 people, allegedly led by Logunov, has been uncovered, but neither the lawyers nor other parties to the trial have seen other members of the group. I just want to ask Gorky’s sacramental question: “Yes, was there a boy, maybe there wasn’t a boy?”

Mehdi Feofanovich will have to stay behind bars until December 10, and the deadline for the investigation in his case to end until December 18 - a number of examinations and other investigative actions have not yet been carried out.

The judge actually supported the prosecutor’s request, convinced that an elderly and sick person should be “marinated” in a pre-trial detention center. At the same time, M.F. Logunov himself reported that he was not receiving medical care behind bars, doctors did not examine him, and his relatives brought him medicine from outside.

Lawyer Dmitry Tikhonenkov describes the situation this way: “We filed our petition on behalf of the defense to change the preventive measure. The suspicions on which the prosecution bases its line are in no way substantiated. Mehdi Feofanovich suffers from many diseases; there is no risk that he will violate a more lenient measure. There is the practice of the European Court of Human Rights, there are Kharkov precedents, for example the case of Alla Aleksandrovskaya, when an elderly and unhealthy person is not behind bars during the trial.”

The trial was held in open mode; the case was not heard on its merits.

This is how activist Spartak Golovachev, who was present at it and who himself spent more than two and a half years in prison and was released on bail, describes this meeting: “Mehdi Feofanovich categorically refused all charges. The court considered him “prone to physical influence on the investigative bodies of the SBU,” citing other, no less absurd arguments. Mehdi asked to thank his spiritual father and all believers for the prayers for him. He reported that his baptismal name was Michael. In parting he said: “Hang in there, guys!”

So, again a pre-trial detention center, again staying behind bars far from relatives and qualified medical care. If they seize an old man, known in the city for his inventions and rationalization proposals, it means that the SBU has a complete crisis of the genre.

And it is not clear which chicken leg of the “hut” has it more clearly expressed. The regional administration that appoints such “traitors” or the central leadership, obsessed with the idea of not letting their fellow citizens into Russia and knowing exactly who is to blame for the terrorist attacks throughout Europe?
