In Kharkov, the SBU has tied up a gang of luxury car thieves led by a former cop
The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the police, neutralized an interregional group of professional criminals in Kharkov, which specialized in the theft of luxury cars.

About it Vladislav Abdula, speaker of the SBU in the Kharkiv region, reported on Facebook.
Gang members stole recent foreign cars, mainly Toyota and Lexus, and offered to return them to their owners for a reward. The amount that the thieves demanded for the return of the undamaged car was 20–25% of its market value.
It was established that the group members were involved in more than 15 car thefts in many regions of Ukraine.
With this money they bought drugs and firearms, which they transported across the demarcation line for sale in other regions of Ukraine.
The organizer of the gang turned out to be a 33-year-old resident of the Lugansk region. Among the group's members was a former police officer from Donbass, who was fired last year.
On March 29, law enforcement officers detained the organizer and two active members of the group. A stolen Toyota RAV4 car, money, a device for reading alarm codes, a machine gun with cartridges and psychotropic drugs were confiscated from the detainees.
