According to the First Deputy Head of the National Police, Vyacheslav Abroskin, a 38-year-old man, while intoxicated, released an RGD-5 grenade onto the floor, which exploded under him.
“The young man died. It was only by miracle that his wife and two young children, who were in the next room at that moment, were not injured,” Abroskin wrote on Facebook.
According to preliminary data from specialists from the police explosives department, the explosion occurred due to careless handling of ammunition. Criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 1 of Art. 115 (premeditated murder) and Part 1 of Art. 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition and explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
