Kharkov, January 17 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – In the Kharkov region, a fuel tank caught fire at the Shebelinka railway station: the prosecutor’s office suspects a terrorist attack.

The first reports of the incident appeared with reference to Vsevolod Kozhemyaka, a Kharkov businessman, volunteer, co-founder of the Peace and Order Foundation.
“Presumably, a shot was fired from a grenade launcher at a fuel tank. Three tanks are already burning; the train consists of 50 tanks. All services are connected and are trying to unhook the burning tanks from the train,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
Later, the press service of the State Emergency Service reported that on January 16, the eighth tank from the tail of the train, which consisted of forty tanks with 60 tons of gasoline, caught fire. At 22:25 the fire was localized and extinguished at 24:00, there were no casualties or injuries.
“39 tanks with gasoline were saved. The railway station is operating as usual. Upon inspection, a hole of irregular geometric shape was discovered in the lower part of the tank. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine involved 50 people in extinguishing the fire. personnel and 6 units. equipment, 2 firefighting trains from Ukrzaliznytsia,” rescuers reported.
In turn, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office reported that criminal proceedings under Art. 113 of the Criminal Code (sabotage).
“The gasoline tank caught fire at about 21:30 p.m. The fire was extinguished within two hours. There were no casualties. An inspection of the scene of the incident revealed external damage to the fuel tank,” the statement said. The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the Ukrainian State Security Service in the region. Its progress is under the control of the leadership of the regional prosecutor's office.
