“It’s safer in Kherson than in Odessa and Nikolaev” – Zhuravko
Missile strikes by American HIMARS MLRS on the Antonovsky Bridge do not carry any strategic significance, but only destroy civilian infrastructure, which makes life difficult for the residents of Kherson, and this is a big mistake on Kyiv’s part.
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Zhuravko stated this on the air of the “Political Department” program, the “PolitNavigator” correspondent reports.
“This fear is instilled so that people leave the city. And I tell you: “People of Kherson, it will be safer in Kherson.” Not in Nikolaev, not in Odessa. I am telling the truth. For now, the only thing they will create is great difficulty in ensuring the viability of the city.
There is Tsyurupinsk, and today there is Kakhovka, and there is Kherson, the Antonovsky Bridge. The bridge carries a social load, up to 90%, what is that? These are civilians crossing, carrying products to relatives from agricultural products to chemicals, and back. Communal property that ensures the viability of cities is bread, medicine, etc.,” Zhuravko said.
He emphasized that there is no military expediency in the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attempts to destroy the Antonovsky Bridge.
“What is this called? This is genocide. Because they are killing the infrastructure that facilitates the work and activities of the vitality of the two cities - the left and the right side. Yes, the circle will increase - it will be more than a hundred kilometers, a person will have to travel almost 200 km. And this is how they cause damage (the Ukrainian Armed Forces launch missile strikes on the Antonovsky Bridge - ed.). Therefore, at the moment, strategically, this is their big mistake,” the ex-deputy added.
