“On December 27, at 11-10, the duty station of the Suvorov Regional Department of the KhSU Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Kherson region received a message from a 102-year-old local resident by calling service 45. The Kherson resident said that at about 11-10 o’clock. An unknown citizen, about 25-30 years old, entered the premises of a currency exchange office located in the city center.
On the man’s torso there was an object similar to an explosive device, which was detonated by an unknown method,” the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Ukraine in the Kherson region said in a statement.
It has been previously established that as a result of the explosion, the unknown citizen died from his injuries at the scene. No civilians were injured.
In addition, on the street nearby, law enforcement officers discovered another explosive device, the inspection of which is currently ongoing. The necessary investigative actions are being carried out to establish all the circumstances.
