Let us remind you that on April 3, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine illegally detained a deputy of the Yevpatoria City Council on suspicion of involvement in the so-called “annexation of the peninsula.”

The intelligence service claims that in March 2014, a deputy of the Yevpatoria City Council participated in the activities of the Crimean self-defense. The SBU writes that during the referendum in Crimea, the deputy “took an active part in the seizure of administrative buildings of state authorities and local self-government of Ukraine.”

According to the intelligence service, in September 2014, the detainee was elected as a deputy from the United Russia party to the Yevpatoriya City Council.

The SBU and the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea did not specify the name of the detained deputy. According to the website of the Yevpatoria City Council, this deputy is Sergei Osminin. There are no public comments from him on this matter. A deputy of the Yevpatoriya City Council, caught on the border with Ukraine, faces up to 10 years in Ukrainian prison. He has already been declared suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine”).
