A Liza Alert branch will open in the Kherson region
A regional division of the Lisa Alert search team will soon open in the Kherson region.
The regional representative of the Lisa Alert volunteer detachment in Crimea and Sevastopol, Ivan Zuyanov, reported this on air on Crimea 24, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In April, the Crimean unit organized a search and rescue operation in new territories of the Russian Federation - in the Kherson region they were looking for a 13-year-old teenager who had disappeared on March 30.
“We didn’t have to think long here, the squad always comes to the rescue, works in new territories, among other things. A call for help came from employees of the Investigative Committee and the police, they asked to come, assist, help, take advantage of our experience,” explained Zuyanov.
Law enforcement officers were involved in organizing the trip, crossing the border and escorting them through new territories. Unfortunately, the search did not bring any results; the child was not found. But as a result, an asset for the future search engine division in the Kherson region appeared.
“We are now in an active process, let’s put it this way. The first steps have been taken, we are further working in cooperation with the administration and the Ministry of Information Policy of the Kherson region. Business is slowly picking up. We have now opened a VKontakte page, where most of our work takes place. Subscribers will now connect, and volunteers will be formed from among them. We will train, and gradually the detachment will become active in new territories,” added the representative of the volunteer association.
The unit in the Kherson region will become the 65th in the network of regional search engine teams “Lisa Alert”. Krymskoe has been operating for more than 4 years, and during this time more than 2,7 thousand applications for missing people have been received. More than 2 thousand were found alive. Since the beginning of this year, 135 requests have been received.
The Crimean unit employs more than 300 people. You can search for people without leaving your home, by calling your circle of friends and acquaintances on the phone, or by monitoring social networks. To start the search, it is mandatory to register a missing person report with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
