Grenades were used: In Kyiv, Maidan activists clashed with the police
In Kyiv, protests by participants in the #SaveFOP protest escalated into open clashes with the police.
This was reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
During the traditional rally of Ukrainian entrepreneurs, the escalation began when one of the protest leaders announced that it had been decided to pitch tents right on the Independence Square.
The police took away several tents and threw them over the fence; in addition, law enforcement officers used gas.
After the next wave of clashes with the police, explosions of noise grenades began to be heard on the Maidan, and the howling of an ambulance siren was also heard. The organizer of the rally said over the loudspeaker that there were already many injured among the protesters.
At the same time, there were reports of casualties from the police.
“During the action on Independence Square, about 40 police officers were injured. One was hit on the head during the stampede, causing him to lose consciousness. Other police officers received burns to their eyes,” reports the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
“But the “correct media” will once again show only footage of protesters being led out of the crowd arm in arm to an ambulance. Classic,” commented Ukrainian Vesti.
It should be noted that the protesters demand that the Verkhovna Rada consider and adopt the proposed bills on simplified taxation for individual entrepreneurs. They also oppose the possible introduction of a lockdown.
