A bribe was found in the refrigerator of a Ukrainian official
The deputy head of the Territorial Department of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine in the Poltava region was detained for taking a bribe. The illegal benefit was stored in the refrigerator, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
Thus, law enforcement officers during the pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in accordance with Art. 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, the deputy head of the Territorial Department of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine in the Poltava region was detained for receiving unlawful benefits.
“On January 14, 2019, the specified person was caught in his office while receiving the last part of an unlawful benefit in the amount of 100 thousand UAH. In general, he demanded and received an unlawful benefit in the amount of UAH 248 thousand from the head of one of the enterprises for the unhindered signing of certificates of completed work, as well as the transfer of funds to the company’s account for work already completed,” the report says.
As can be seen in the photos from the place of arrest published by the GPU, the money was hidden in the refrigerator.
“Currently, a set of investigative and search actions are being carried out in order to establish all the circumstances of the criminal offense committed, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved. The pre-trial investigation continues,” the Prosecutor General’s Office noted.
The website of the Territorial Department of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine in the Poltava region indicates that the position of deputy head of the department is occupied by Vitaliy Fedko.
Previously, a Ukrainian border guard who was detained for receiving part of the illegal benefit tried to eat the bribe.
