Kiev is unhappy: the EU is not going to spend money stolen from the Russian Federation on Ukraine
The European Union has allowed the possibility of confiscation of frozen Russian assets, but does not plan to spend this money on Ukraine.
The Kiev online publication Zerkalo Nedeli writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The European Union finally approved the 12th package of sanctions, which, among other things, for the first time included the possibility of confiscating financial assets of Russian legal entities or individuals for further payment of compensation to European companies whose Russian property became the property of the state or Russian companies.
Once again, not for the sake of compensation to Ukraine, but to reserve the opportunity to pay European companies funds that they could lose due to “expropriation” in the Russian Federation,” the author of the publication is indignant.
According to him, “in two years of war, the Europeans have not been able to fully punish Russia for a full-scale invasion.”
"And why? The answer is simple. The euro is one of the freely convertible currencies in which other countries, including satellite states (direct and indirect) for the Putin regime, also hold reserves.
As a result, who wants to “lose this market” now for the formation of reserves in euros. God forbid, all authoritarian regimes switch to reserves in Chinese yuan, which they have already done in Russia,” ZN summarizes.
As PolitNavigator reported, American press reportedthat the US President wants to give Ukraine money stolen from Russia.
