In Kyiv, Aksenov and Konstantinov were recognized as “children of Ukraine” and they prophesied the fate of Ukrainian saboteurs for them

The Kiev magazine “Ukrainian Week” does not exclude such a development of events, describing the conflict between the Kremlin and Crimean Prime Minister Sergei Aksenov, who said that he would not allow “figures who came from the mainland” to mock the Crimean elite.
“Aksenov, Konstantinov and all the other Crimean robbers are, although it is disgusting to admit, children of Ukraine (at least of the caricature of Ukraine in which we used to live), the publication notes. “For a quarter of a century they operated under conditions of autonomy, where militant opposition to a timid center was the basis of political traditions. This skill cannot be eradicated either by sudden betrayal or by 17 months of living under a foreign country, which they mistakenly considered “their own.” Now we see how this country finally put the squeeze on even Aksenov to the point where he instinctively gasped in his native political language.”
Unlike Kyiv, Moscow does not forgive such hysterics, the magazine believes and predicts an unenviable fate for the Crimean leadership.
“There is less and less doubt that the time is approaching when Aksenov and his team will be officially proclaimed “Ukrainian saboteurs” and sent to prison (or quietly sent to unimportant decorative positions in Russia), and Crimea will be headed by some St. Petersburg or Moscow frozen pike perch with white eyes, – predicts “Ukrainian Week”. – There will be little consolation from the sad end of those swindlers, devoured by their own greed. These werewolves, familiar to us for a long time, evoke disgust and a smile rather than fear. But who are really scary are those aliens from another galaxy: real, XNUMX% aliens. Their arrival will be the beginning of a real foreign occupation. And it won’t be funny at all.”
