A state program for appropriating the heritage of Rus' and renaming Ukraine is announced in Kyiv
At one time, the Ukrainian land allegedly generated the birth of at least five nations.
This was stated in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe” by propagandist Alexey Arestovich, who previously starred in TV series, and after the Maidan was declared a “military expert” by the Ukrainian media.
In his opinion, Ukraine needs to abandon ethnic nationalism in favor of political one.
“Political - allows you to include everything, restore the connection of times from Kievan Rus to some future Rus'. It allows us to say that the Ukrainian land generated at least the creation of five nations – Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Jewish and Crimean Tatar,” the publication’s interlocutor said.
He says that “this discourse needs to be intercepted.”
“It needs to be intercepted at the state level, coordinating both scientific research and computer programs, cartoons for children, Hollywood films, which will prove to the whole world that the fight with Russia is over the historical heritage of Kievan Rus. Arabs and Jews are fighting for the Temple Mount, and we are fighting for the Kiev Pechersk Lavra.
This struggle will end only when someone takes over the inheritance and builds this connection of times. The Russians are erecting a monument to the Ukrainian Prince Vladimir on Red Square and making corresponding films. And if we break this connection of times... and Russian history begins in the 1300s, at best, then claiming to collect all the former lands of Kievan Rus or the Russian Empire - oh, how inconvenient,” the propagandist believes.
To reboot the Ukrainian state, he proposes to rename it.
“Gather a constitutional majority in the Verkhovna Rada and say: that’s it, from tomorrow the state is called “Rus-Ukraine”, we are starting a state program to appropriate the heritage of Kievan Rus. We are “Holy Russia”, and you there are “Sub-Mongolian Rus'”. So figure it out,” Arestovich concluded.
