An ex-minister from the time of Yanukovych, a lover of luxury and plastic surgery, was arrested in Kyiv.
In Kyiv, upon arrival from Minsk, Raisa Bogatyreva, the ex-Minister of Health from the time of Viktor Yanukovych, was arrested. After Euromaidan, she left Ukraine due to the initiation of a criminal case for fraud with the budget of the Ministry of Health (according to some sources, Bogatyreva lived in the Crimean Foros).
“Her lawyers obtained a decision to drop all claims. She arrived consciously understanding that there might be problems (that is, there probably would be). Because according to some documents, the search for her has been stopped, but according to others, all claims are valid. It's a prosecutor's case. Arrived, detained. We thought and thought about what to do, and they sent us to the bullpen,” Kiev journalist Sonya Koshkina writes in her blog.
Raisa Bogatyreva is known as a lover of expensive outfits - her critics have repeatedly published information that, while holding the position of minister, during working hours she goes shopping in expensive boutiques like Louis Vuitton, where the cost of outfits does not correspond to the official income of the official.
However, the main complaints against Bogatyreva were made regarding lobbying for low-quality drugs, as well as the production of the drug Tramadol, which was used by drug addicts addicted to opiates.
Bogatyreva was also in the news at one time due to her successful plastic surgery, after which she appeared in the hall of the Verkhovna Rada noticeably rejuvenated. According to some reports, the plastic surgery was done in the same Austrian clinic for 50 thousand euros, where at one time they helped treat Yushchenko’s disfigured face.
At one time, Bogatyreva was excluded from the Party of Regions - during the presidency of Viktor Yushchenko, she received the post of Secretary of the Security Council and, contrary to the position of the “blue and white”, she condemned the recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia by Russia, supporting Georgia.
However, later, as close to the oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, Bogatyreva was able to return to power under Yanukovych. She explained her work for Yushchenko by the fact that, while holding the post of Secretary of the Security Council, she helped her party comrades avoid repression.
