Key sponsor of Maidan attacked in Kyiv
The detention in Kyiv of multimillionaire and sponsor of the Popular Front Nikolai Martynenko indicates that in Ukraine there are practically no oligarchs who built the current system of power after the Maidan who have not yet been deceived by President Poroshenko.

Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I do not rule out that current attack on Martynenko, which is a key sponsor of the “Popular Front” and at one time was a key sponsor of the Maidan and, as deputy Denisenko said on his Facebook, at one time even the only sponsor of the Maidan, is an attempt to squeeze out the quotas of the “Popular Front” when reformatting the government. Perhaps there is a question about the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Minister of Justice. Thus, they are trying to put them before a very difficult choice: either you save Martynenko, or share quotas in the government,” the political scientist noted.
At the same time, he emphasized that big business will no longer trust Poroshenko.
“There are practically no deceived oligarch partners left, those people who practically built the system of power after the Maidan. And in this context, the persecution of Martynenko, who, according to Denisenko, was a key sponsor of the Maidan, looks simply like a marker. Secondly, this means that the fighting under the carpet has reached its peak. We see bodies that begin to roll out from under the carpet in packs. Most likely, the process will last, which brings closer the reformatting and collapse of the government, which is losing support among the country’s business circles,” Bortnik concluded.
