In Kyiv they are scratching their forelocks: Russia is preparing for a war of attrition in Ukraine
On Ukrainian TV, victorious reports about the imminent defeat and flight of the Russian army, following the example of the Kharkov region, are replaced by warnings about Russia’s transition to a “war of attrition for Ukraine.”
The head of the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies, fugitive Crimean Maidan activist Andrei Klimenko said this on air on the 1+1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Klimenko, new territories of the Russian Federation are being intensively prepared for defense, carrying out engineering work and saturating them with equipment.
“This is a new stage that can be characterized; they are moving to the stage of a war of attrition in Ukraine. They establish their presence in the new occupied territories, add personnel and equipment there, and build bunkers and bunkers there.
And they expect to turn the war into a protracted state, for a long time, in the hope that Ukraine will not survive, and its allies, their confidence will be called into question due to some kind of social unrest - due to rising prices and inflation,” Klimenko said.
Previously, the Ukrainian authorities stated that they received five billion dollars a month as a loan from the West, without which Kyiv would not be able to survive.
In European countries, tariff increases have been recorded in recent months due to the severance of economic ties with Russia.
