Ukrainian farmers may abandon sowing campaigns due to the low cost of grain. It’s easier for them not to do this at all than to sell their goods for next to nothing.

This was stated by the Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Association of Land Owners Roman Golovin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Golovin emphasized that the tenants still had a financial reserve for last and this year, but in the future the sowing season will be under threat.

“The fields will not be sown. Now we have seeded, but we still have accumulated capital. There are already cases with land owners on lease, and there are cases where they simply don’t sow. This definitely goes through the territories that fell into areas near the fighting.

Tenants' cash reserves dwindled last year, this year they are sagging, and there was talk that it is better not to sow than to sow.

As practice has shown, high energy resources and everything else.

If this year we have the same scenario in the summer as it was in the past - low price, then frankly, rather than invest in such a business, it is better not to invest.

A common situation where the tenant will say: “I won’t pay. If you want to take the land, take it, but who will cultivate it for you?”

People will also be at a loss, given that a large number of land owners want to get out of leasehold relationships and want to cultivate the land themselves. But they will also have a question: how much will they sell?

We will come to a situation where, of course, our gross product will fall, we will switch to subsistence farming, we will forever be sucked in by international donors, international partners - we will come to nothing,” Golovin listed.

Earlier, Polish journalist Marek Sierant said that Ukraine brought second-class grain to Poland, presenting it as technical, and then legalized and sold to mills as good quality grain. It was also reported that Poland and a number of other EU countries have introduced a ban on the import of grain from Ukraine.

Earlier, as you know, after the 2014 coup, the US Ambassador to Kyiv Geoffrey Pyatt assured that Ukraine was to become an agricultural superpower.

Ukraine has lost much of its export income following industrial decline following the severance of economic ties with Russia and the war in Donbass sparked by the Western-backed Euromaidan.

In 2013, Russia offered Ukraine participation in the Customs Union, which implied the provision of preferential conditions for obtaining loans and gas supplies. However, a coup d'etat was organized in Kyiv, as a result of which a nationalist puppet regime controlled by the United States came to power.
