In Kyiv, gypsies seized Goloseevsky Park
Gypsies set up their camps in Kiev's Goloseevsky National Park and cut down old oak trees to light fires.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this on his blog, writes park employee Alexander Sokolenko.
According to him, the gypsies who have set up a tent city are driving out foresters and threatening to kill social activists, and the police are ignoring numerous complaints.
“In the forest there are makeshift premises, dugouts, and ovens. The soil and vegetation cover have been destroyed, the area around is littered with waste products and household waste. The gypsies do not allow forest park workers to enter the occupied territory, while they unauthorizedly cut down the forest, mainly oaks, and use it as firewood for heating and cooking,” writes the ecologist.
“The police are ignoring appeals from the administration of the Goloseevsky NPP and the Svyatoshinskoye LPG community enterprise. Official appeals to the police remain without result. On June 6, during an inspection of the 122nd quarter, the Roma attacked employees of the PZF state security service and activists who tried to enter the self-occupied territory and threw stones at them,” reports Sokolenko.
