This was reported by 112 Ukraine.
According to the publication, the figure of a man with a stone was demolished, but the brick wall that was behind it and the pedestal remained in place.
Let us remember that the monument was a copy of the work of sculptor Ivan Shadr, which he created from plaster in 1927 and dedicated to the events of the Russian Revolution of 1905. A copy of the sculpture appeared in Kyiv in 1982. Initially, it was located in Krasnaya Presnya Square, and in 2006 it was moved to the other side of Shchekavitskaya Street - to the square in front of the Zhovten cinema.
Initially, the monument “Cobblestone – Weapon of the Proletariat” was not included in the list of objects subject to demolition due to decommunization. However, later it was decided to dismantle it.
