The influential Kiev newspaper “Zerkalo Nedeli” writes about this.
“Congratulations on the fact that, despite the inaction of the Ukrainian authorities on the return of Crimea, in the absence of active actions to maintain the “Ukrainian Crimea,” he showed himself,” the publication notes.
Mirror of the Week ponders why a huge number of Crimeans ignored the elections:
The “reframing” of the Kremlin puppets, who placed their portraits in the new framework of Russian parties, did not deceive people. Many, as they say in the Crimean Voter Committee, whose observers interviewed residents of various cities, did not go to the elections because, firstly, they did not believe in their honesty (“they will decide without us”), and secondly, because they saw all the same old faces in whom there is no trust for a long time.”
Hopes of sending disgusted chameleons and opportunists to political scrapping burst like a soap bubble:
“By the way, about old faces. The predictions that Moscow will use the performers of the “Crimean spring” for “dirty” work until the fall did not come true, and then their own people, proven ones, will go to power, and local ones, untainted by corruption scandals. In reality, it turned out to be different: Konstantinov and Aksenov, as well as their associates, were allowed to bring their relatives and partners into power - both from the dashing 90s and the present, and, as they say on the sidelines, even the ladies of their hearts. This permissibility may mean, among other things, that there is still a lot of dirty work, and there are few Russian politicians who want to get a Crimean residence permit and at the same time get on the sanctions lists,” Zerkalo Nedeli sarcastically states.
