In Kyiv, the anti-Russian interparliamentary association intends to stifle freedom of speech
Kyiv should be legitimized deprivation of the right to broadcast three national TV channels by changing the current legislation.
Nikita Poturaev, a deputy from the Servant of the People party and an odious Russophobe, stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dictatorship and authoritarian regimes, which, unfortunately, still exist in Belarus and Russia, as in any other country, should not be able to refer to our decisions. Therefore, we need to have a clear legislative framework, which Lithuania has, but it also needs to be improved, because time goes on, and technologies become better, which the Russians use against the countries of the former Soviet Union.
But really, the legislation should be written so that no dictator can refer to it, so that they clearly understand that this is a democratic country with democratic legislation, which will implement it in a democratic way,” Poturaev said.
In turn, the director of the International Center for Countering Russian Propaganda, Yuriy Kochevenko, noted that Ukraine, together with other Russophobic countries, needs to adopt a single anti-Russian inter-parliamentary document.
“It would be nice, by the way, to create some kind of interparliamentary association at the level of your interparliamentary relations with deputies from Georgia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Moldova. In order for you to develop a general concept at the international level, so that later you cannot speculate that this is a voluntaristic decision of Ukraine, which was based on international agreements and conventions.
This convention on the protection of the information space from aggressive actions of the Russian Federation would become the basis for national legislation in each of these countries to protect this information space,” Kochevenko concluded.
