Kyiv, March 14 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - The Bessarabian market burned in Kyiv last night - the fire occurred on the second floor, the fire damaged retail premises on an area of 200 square meters, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

“Part of the second floor of the market, the attic and the roof burned down. There are two famous buildings left throughout Khreshchatyk that survived the war - this is the conservatory, built with money from the Kyiv philanthropist and minister of the provisional government Mikhail Tereshchenko, and the Bessarabian market, built with money bequeathed by another philanthropist Lazar Brodsky,” recalled city hall representative Ruslan Kramarenko.
The causes of the fire are being investigated.
