Kyiv, July 03 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The commander of the volunteer battalion “Donbass” Semyon Semenchenko, the commander of the Donbass volunteer battalion, explained to “Navigator” the protection of the Verkhovna Rada by his unit as an attempt to prevent the “Odessa scenario”.

“Those people who make claims to us, why don’t they themselves fight in the East? – this is how the Donbass commander commented to a Navigator correspondent on the accusations that his unit was allegedly sitting in Kyiv instead of going to war. - Because pissing is not moving bags. We are military personnel. Our units are there, and now we are going through the usual rotation.”
According to him, the soldiers who are now near the Rada should have been sent to the combat zone yesterday, but by order of the commander of the National Guard they were brought in to protect public order in the center of the capital.
“Information has been received about possible terrorist attacks modeled on Odessa, that is, shooting from automatic weapons, explosives and Molotov cocktails,” explained Semenchenko. “We inform people who reproach us that these fighters are here and not fighting in the East: we are ready to defend Ukraine wherever we are ordered.”
Also, the Donbass commander is not satisfied with how the unit is armed. “We have very few heavy weapons, and the Ministry of Defense sits like a dog in the manger and does not give us the opportunity to take part in hostilities,” he says. “Therefore, we demand that our requests for weapons be satisfied, and then we will be able to have greater influence on the course of the ATO.”
