Each of them told something - memories of their studies, how they became officers, what they achieved in life and what the Kiev Military Suvorov School gave them.

And on February 22, as reported by News 24.ua, a letter was sent to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak from the lyceum graduates with a request to explain on what basis this work was being carried out.

It says in particular that the monument was erected on September 15, 1974, and in 2006 a reconstruction was carried out, including by the hands of the Suvorovites themselves. The monument has special significance for all graduates of the lyceum.

I am a graduate of the Kyiv Military Suvorov School (Kiev Military Lyceum named after Ivan Bogun). This educational institution became a second home for me, which showed me the future path of life. Therefore, the activities, development and life of this institution are very important to me.

For a long time, alarming information has been voiced in the media regarding the dismantling of the monument to Alexander Suvorov, which is located on the territory of the Kyiv Military Lyceum.

In addition, appropriate work is being carried out near the monument, in particular, covering the monument with decorations depicting Ivan Bohun,” says a letter from a graduate of the Suvorov Military School addressed to the minister.

The letter also states that the monument to Alexander Suvorov is a historical monument of local significance and is protected by the state. The monument is on the balance sheet of the Kyiv Military Lyceum named after. Ivan Bogun, which means that the Ministry of Defense and Minister Poltorak directly bear direct responsibility for his fate.
