In Kyiv they are threatening to translate the Russian language into Latin along with the “mova”
When the time comes to switch to the Latin alphabet, Ukraine will have to translate, among other things, the Russian language, since the lion's share of Ukrainian patriots have poor command of the language.
Political scientist Konstantin Matvienko, who serves Yulia Tymoshenko’s headquarters, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The topic of Ukrainian patriotism of Russian-speaking citizens is very correct, it seems to me that it has been neglected throughout the thirty years of independence, now we need to return to it. It lies primarily in the socio-cultural sphere.
There is such a phenomenon - front-line literature. That is, since the beginning of the war, when you come to any book forum, you will see several stands with front-line poetry, prose, and photography. And very often this poetry, this prose, this essayism is Russian-language. Why go far, “We will never be brothers” - what is that?
Professional Ukrainian-speaking patriots have monopolized this topic since 1989 and have not let go to this day. Entire dynasties of professional patriots have already grown up. We need to return to this issue,” Matvienko said.
«In utilitarian, pragmatic terms, sooner or later we will have to codify the transition of the Ukrainian language to the Latin alphabet, and we will have to (we - this is the Ukrainian government, because it will be responsible for codification) codify the transition of the Russian language to the Latin alphabet, because simply no one will do this for us. I'm pushed away Kazakh experience", added Matvienko.
