“The meeting between Vladislav Surkov and Kurt Volker will most likely take place in Minsk. The American side proposed to meet in Vienna, the Russian side in Kaliningrad. Minsk could become a meeting point convenient for both sides. For the Russian delegation, this is a good compromise - the territory of the Union State of Russia and Belarus and not far from Kaliningrad. For Americans, the concession is also small - the flight will only have to be an hour and a half longer. The date of the meeting can be agreed upon in the coming days,” Chesnakov informed.
As PolitNavigator reported, in Ukraine they do not expect anything good from the meeting between Surkov and Volker. So, SBU General Vasily Vovk saidthat the results of this meeting may not be in favor of Ukraine.
In turn, the former representative of Ukraine in the Minsk contact group Roman Bessmertny complained that the United States, together with Russia, is forcing Kyiv to enter into a direct dialogue with the Donbass republics.
