The Ukrainian propagandist noted that to modernize the Ukrainian Navy, “submarines are needed, at least two or three frigates to participate in NATO operations in the ocean zone and some set of corvettes,” but at the same time admitted that Kiev does not have such means and not yet expected.
“We understand that these are incredibly colossal costs,” Tymchuk emphasized. “Therefore, at this stage, obviously, it is necessary to create an anti-ship complex that would be based on the shore. And in this way we could ensure security from the sea, postponing the rearmament of the naval forces until later. Because today there are no financial resources for this. That is why I say that we need to look for unpopular, but some solutions that can save the situation.”
