The Kiev City Council renamed International Square to Valery Marchenko Square.

78 deputies voted for the adoption of the corresponding draft decision, with the minimum required 61, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the press service of the Kyiv City Council.
Valery Marchenko is an anti-Soviet dissident who served his sentence in camps in Mordovia.
The City Council claims that according to the results of the public discussion, 87% of participants allegedly supported this renaming.
