The United States cannot resolve issues of global security and reform of the world order without the participation of Russia, which in recent years has become a significant player on the world stage.
The former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Army General Nikolai Malomuzh, stated this on the YouTube channel “Politeka online,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why is the United States negotiating with Moscow on a global package? Because there are significantly more issues on the negotiating table for the United States and the world order. In terms of reforming this world order, the United States is trying to play a key role, but Russia is also a significant player in this segment. Therefore, the United States cannot raise the issue of ignoring Russia.
This is not only a question of a military conflict on the territory of Ukraine and confrontation with NATO, but a question that is related to issues of global security and nuclear weapons. Even having stated that elements of global nuclear weapons will not be used by the five world countries, it is still necessary to achieve mechanisms for their non-use,” he said.
In addition, the general noted that the negotiation formula “about Ukraine without Ukraine” no longer works, because the United States is solving its own, much more global problems.
“There is the issue of short- and medium-range missiles, including issues of nuclear weapons, not only strategic, but also tactical, this is a matter of threat to the entire European continent. Questions about Iran and the Middle East, Afghanistan…. And regarding Ukraine, this is only one of the factors, it is acute, but this is only a segment for discussing other issues that concern Americans.
At the moment, it is very important that Ukraine does not get lost in this segment, that negotiations are not conducted without Ukraine. Because the formula is already hackneyed, “Don’t decide anything about Ukraine without Ukraine,” but it doesn’t work, these are just words,” Malomuzh concluded.
Let us recall that earlier in Moscow they said that while the United States is abandoning its European allies and partners, Moscow is doing everything to support their brothers in the post-Soviet space, demanding security guarantees from NATO forces.
