Kiev wants to inflict unacceptable military damage on Russia in the Sea of Azov
Ukraine can use both diplomatic and military ways to solve the problem of detention of ships in the Sea of Azov.
Ex-Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine Igor Romanenko stated this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the diplomatic path is to raise the issue with the EU about imposing sanctions on Russia’s Black Sea ports.
“On the military path, I want to say that ships and all complex equipment take time, all this does not happen as quickly as we would like. “We are preparing means of other types of armed forces, such as the air force, ground forces, forces that are preparing to conduct anti-landing operations, that is, destroying targets at sea,” the general said.
He claims that Ukraine managed to win in 2014, and now they can try to “inflict unacceptable damage.”
“The question is how to do that kind of damage. The leaders of the RF Armed Forces know, they predict how this will turn out. They believed that through the actions of 2014 they would not only annex, but also build Novorossiya. That did not happen. Why? First of all, because Ukraine resisted these events with its armed forces and therefore, unfortunately, managed to annex Crimea and part of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Of those captured, 3/5 were released. “We did it,” Romanenko assures. “If the Russians had not used regular troops, then within a month it would have been over.”
