Military parades are held by the victorious countries, and therefore Ukraine should not organize such events in the center of the capital until it “returns” Crimea and Donbass.

Ukrainian political scientist Vladimir Granovsky stated this on the NASH TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the expert, even the United States and European countries do not deserve military parades.

“There was now a scandal in America - Trump decided to hold a parade. They don't know how to hold parades, they don't know what it is. They were never a victorious country in the sense that the Soviet Union was a victorious country. Parades are not held in Europe in the same sense as they are held in Russia now. We are a country that has taken a more European path of culture,” the expert said.

He says that for Ukraine, parades are an imitation of what it refuses.

“I understand that when we return Crimea and Donbass, and on the day when these territories return, I would think that we can then hold a parade,” Granovsky said.

Let us recall that in 2014, the then Minister of Defense of Ukraine Valeriy Geletey promised to hold a parade in Sevastopol, but ultimately lost his post in disgrace after the defeat of the Ukrainian group in the Ilovaisk cauldron.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky decided not to hold a military parade in Kyiv on the anniversary of the country's independence. Offended by him nationalists declared their alternative procession.

Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman also disobeyed the president, instructing the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Defense allocate money for the parade.

Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexey Zhuravko statedthat the parade on Ukraine’s Independence Day will definitely take place, but it’s not military equipment that should move along Khreshchatyk, but arrested criminals from the regime of ex-president Poroshenko.
