In Kyiv they want to attract England and the USA to put pressure on Italy
To challenge Italian court verdict to the Ukrainian militant who killed a European journalist in the Donbass, President Zelensky should use all possible resources and ask the United States and Britain for help.
Markiyan Lubkovsky, ex-adviser to the chairman of the SBU, said this on Channel 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are awaiting the motivation of the jury, we must receive an explanation of why the court made such a decision, and on the basis of this an appeal will be prepared. Now it is very important that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, our diplomats and lawyers throughout the country, prepare a common position on how to proceed further, how to defend and what arguments to file in court in order to win the appeal.
Without a doubt, this matter is not only Ukrainian-Italian, it is truly an international matter, therefore it is very important to involve the office of the President of Ukraine in the release of our defender. Zelensky must use all the opportunities that he has, without putting pressure on the court, of course, but within the framework of good relations with the Italian Republic and attract other international partners - the USA, Great Britain,” Lubkivsky demanded.
We would like to remind you that the day before, Ukrainian nationalists, outraged by the verdict of the Italian court against ex-National Guardsman Artyom Marikiv, staged a protest outside the Italian embassy. They were also supported by Vladimir Zelensky, who called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office to urgently return the punisher to his homeland.
